Tabernacle Baptist Church of Fiskeville

We are . . . an American Baptist Church

Tabernacle Baptist Church is a member of the American Baptist Churches of Rhode Island and the American Baptist Churches, USA.  American Baptists are a denomination of more than one and one half million people who worship in more than 5700 congregations in the United States and Puerto Rico.

We are a biblical people believing that Scripture is our authoritative guide in our continuing search for a deeper knowledge of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

We are a missionary and evangelically minded people.  Beginning with Ann and Adoniram Judson, American Baptists work at home and throughout the world to bring the message of the Gospel to all people.

We believe in and practice believers' baptism. We believe the local congregation is the basic manifestation of the church. We believe that Christ is the head of each congregation and that all members should participate in governing its affairs. Tabernacle Baptist voluntarily associates with the denomination believing that we can best accomplish our mission in concert with others of similar faith and practice.

We reflect the religious heritage of our forefather Roger Williams in our support of religious freedom for ourselves and for all people. We uphold the principles of separation of church and state and believe that all individuals must follow their own conscience in religious matters.
