Tabernacle Baptist Church Governance
As a Baptist Church we operate under a congregational form of governance. It is the membership of the church that makes decisions about the operations, the budget, and the policies of the church.
The annual meeting of the church is held in January of each year. At this meeting we receive written reports of the officers and Board and Committee chairs. We reflect on the activities of the previous year and prayfully consider God's direction for the new year. Additional items may be presented at the request of the church membership.
The fall business meeting focuses primarily on financial matters and policy. The budget for the upcoming year is presented and adopted. New policies may be presented by boards or committees for adoption at the annual meeting. Current policies may be reviewed and updated at the request of any officer, board, or committee. Additional items may be presented at the request of the church membership.
Special meetings may be called for a specific purpose at the request of any officer, board, or committee.
Notice of pending meetings will be announced from the pulpit and on the church website.
